The use of volunteers to provide community service is a new concept in Kirtipur and can be capitalized upon as a viable way to provide trained manpower for the offering of educational services. The Kirtipur Volunteer Society (KVS) was established in 2005 with involving the young people. With support of various partners and individual fund it has been running a counseling program to the young people and their parents on education and other job search scheme. KVS has developed its five year long-term First Development Plan (2005-2010 A.D./2062 -2066B.S) and continuously it will be developed Cooperation Agreement Strategy (CAS) to develop the coordination and cooperation between and among the International Communities and local stakeholders.
Kirtipur Volunteer Society (KVS) was established by a group of youths in 2005. Various partners and individual fund have supported it. It has been running a counseling program to the young people and their parents on education and other job related schemes. KVS has developed its first five year long-term Development Plan (2005-2010 A.D./2062 -2066B.S) and Cooperation Agreement Strategy (CAS) to develop the coordination and cooperation between and among the International Communities and local stakeholders to strengthen the capacity of youth as well as implement the socio activities to the needed communities will be continuously developed. . KVS has been trying to implement some small pilot projects such as capacity development of youths, safer motherhood, adult literacy, HIV/AIDS prevention, disaster preparedness and local NGOs capacity development with the assistance of local and international partners.
Kirtipur Volunteer Society is affiliated with the National Social Welfare Council and National Safer-Motherhood Network of Nepal (NSMNN). KVS - one of the executive members of NSMNN, is registered in Kathmandu District Administration Office in 2006. It has also received its Permanent Account Number (PAN)..
